What Olivia's Up to This Week

Olivia is really engaging with the world around her. She spends a lot of time looking at our dogs (Dixie is sharing her blanket), at us and at some plastic toys that hang above her. She likes to give us smiles but I haven't been able to capture it on camera yet.

Summer in December

Last week it reached nearly 80 degrees in asheville. It was the warmest its been since Olivia was born. I think she really liked the warm weather. She also loves it when her cousin Tatum comes over to play. Tatum absolutely loves Olivia too. I even got a picture of one Hayla, Olivia and Tatum sharing the couch. Its a fun playgroup!

Decorating Olivia's First Tree

We loved introducing Olivia to a Christmas tradition of decorating our family tree. She loved the lights and looking at the ornaments that we held up for her to see. More than anything she just likes to watch us. She is always interested in what Mommy and Daddy are up to.

Toasty nights in Front of the Fireplace

Asheville has been having some beautiful weather but the evenings get chilly and we have found Olivia really enjoys laying in front of the fire and listening to Christmas music. This night I layed her down as she was waking up from a nap. Olivia layed ther for about an hour. She was so happy and relaxed. I had to take a video of her because it was a memorable evening.

Tuckered Out

After our day at the christmas tree farm, Olivia was tuckered out. We spent a quiet evening at home which she seemed to enjoy. She loves hanging out on her blanket on the floor and looking around.

Olivia's First Christmas Tree

On Saturday we went to cut down our Christmas Tree. We went with our friends Corey, Kim and daughter Natalie and Glenn and Janessa and their brood of 5. It was a beautiful day- sunny and 60 degrees. Olivia wasn't in one of her better moods that day but it was still a memorable day. Since Saturday Olivia hasn't been real happy but we have figured out she has been having her 6 week growth spurt. She seems to be coming out of it now though.

Lazy Afternoon

I am learning many wonderful things as Olivia's mom and today was another beautiful time. After nursing, Olivia fell asleep on my chest. I had mounds of laundry and a dirty house but I took the time to enjoy cuddling my angel. After a while I laid her on the bed on her tummy (which she loved) and watched her sleep. She reminds me to savor every moment and to realize what is truly important, not laundry or houswork, but time with the ones we love.

Olivia's First Christmas Experience

Olivia had her first Christmas experience last Sunday. She got to be a part of putting up the tree at Uncle Kevin and Aunt Angela's. She had lots of fun watching everyone decorate the tree including her cousin's Kaelin and Tatum. After it was all done she was tuckered out and fell asleep in her chair while she watched the lights on the tree. It was a lot of excitement for a little angel.

For Your Viewing Enjoyment

Some more pics of Olivia. She really enjoys laying on the soft blanket her Nana and Papa got for her. She is really getting good at her tummy time as well. She can lift her head up and hold and turn it from side to side.

Thanksgiving in Asheville

Thankksgiving last weekend was so much fun. Olivia got to meet her Nana and Papa (her Dad's parents), her Uncle Field and Aunt Isabella. Olivia soaked up all the attention. There were plenty of disagreements about who got to hold Olivia next. She was spoiled with lots love and gifts that grandparents give. Olivia also learned that card playing is important in the fowler family as she sat in on lots of games. It was a nice weekend and at the end her Mommy and Daddy were glad to have a chance to hold her again! Olivia can't wait till her Nana and Papa and Aunt and Uncle come back.

Olivia's favorite things

We are discovering what makes our little angel the happiest. She loves going for walks with Mom or Dad in the baby carrier, she enjoys spending time in her vibrating chair or hanging out on the lap of Mom or Dad. When she is fussy we lay her on her tummy across our lap and she calms right down.
