Olivia's favorite things

We are discovering what makes our little angel the happiest. She loves going for walks with Mom or Dad in the baby carrier, she enjoys spending time in her vibrating chair or hanging out on the lap of Mom or Dad. When she is fussy we lay her on her tummy across our lap and she calms right down.

Olivia's Playtime

Olivia is getting more alert every day. She still spends most of her time doing her favorite things- nursing and sleeping but when she is awake she loves hanging out on her changing table or looking at the bumper in her crib or laying on a blanket- kicking her legs and finding her hands. This week she started tracking us with her eyes.

Parkway Baby

We took Olivia on her first trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had big plans for our trip that day, but learned a valuable lesson that we need to stay flexible as parents. We did make it to the Wash Creek over look south of Asheville. It was a beautiful day with a slight breeze at peak fall color. Olivia enjoyed laying in the grass.

Now that is Fresh!

This is a video of Olivia minutes old. Meme says that she must be a soprano.

Welcome Olivia

It has been a whirlwind for us as we welcomed our daughter Olivia in to the world. We eagerly awaited her arrival for nine months and she was worth the wait. After going five days over due we had to persuade her to leave her cozy home. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00 AM to have Rachel induced. After a long hard day, Olivia arrived at 9:42 PM on October 16. She weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces. She is so beautiful, it was love at first sight. She was healthy from the start and we were able to go home after two nights in the hospital. Bringing her home was so much fun, Rachel's mom was such a great help we could not have done it with out her. We have realized why Olivia had to be coaxed out, she loves being swadled tight like in the womb, and staying cozy and warm. She is a great sleeper usually sleeping up to five hours at night. She went for a walk with dad in her baby bjorn at five days old and loves it. Below are pictures that are from her first day of life till now.
